Effective Communication

The ability to communicate effectively is critical to success in the workplace. At work, the people we communicate with may include managers, colleagues, subordinates, customers, suppliers and the general public, to name a few. Poor communication skills affect workplace relationships and may even prevent us from doing our jobs well. On the other hand, effective communication improves our job performance and enhances our day-to-day contact with others. In this course, we look at three components of effective communication: listening well, expressing ourselves through talking, and being assertive.
