Juneteenth (U.S.)

You’re probably aware of the Fourth of July, which is a celebration of liberty and independence for Americans. But did you know that there’s another holiday that celebrates freedom and independence? Learning about and celebrating cultures different from your own is a way to foster inclusion, empathy, and allyship in both your work environment and community. In this course, you’ll receive an overview of the significance and origins of Juneteenth, a holiday which celebrates the official end of slavery in the U.S. You’ll also learn how educating others on Juneteenth can foster inclusivity in your community. By the end of this course, you should be able to identify ways to participate in this celebration.
