SafeCare BC, a non-profit health and safety association dedicated to ensuring safe, healthy and injury-free working conditions for continuing care workers in British Columbia, is partnering with Absorb Software to deliver free healthcare worker training to those on the frontlines of battling COVID-19.
The SafeCare BC course, called "Enhancing Psychological Health, Wellness and Resilience," will be delivered to healthcare workers free-of-charge via the Absorb Learning Management System.
"Health professionals are the thin line keeping us all safe from COVID-19. Absorb Software is proud to partner with SafeCare BC on this free eLearning initiative to keep healthcare workers informed, safe, and prepared." Said Mike Owens, CEO, Absorb Software.
"My sincere thanks to Absorb for supporting the continuing care sector during this critical time; it is greatly appreciated," said Jennifer Lyle, Chief Executive Officer, SafeCare BC.
Working conditions in continuing care are challenging in the best of times. The injury rate is the highest of any industry and four times the provincial average. In the wake of COVID-19, their job has become even more challenging. As epidemic numbers increase, so do the physical and psychological stresses experienced by these incredible frontline workers.
The self-paced online course is designed to help workers understand how stress works, how it impacts thoughts, feelings and actions and will deliver evidence-based strategies for enhancing resiliency both at home and at work.
As Mike Owens says, "We're at a moment in time where eLearning providers have a duty to step up for the greater good; Absorb is honored to do so."
